Hi.

You found this secret nook! So fun!

A Lesson in Something Probably: Thoughts about this Space

A Lesson in Something Probably: Thoughts about this Space

When I started this blog I intended for it to be a space on the internet where I share my thoughts so people can read them. It was easier for me and alleviated some of the guilt I harbor around saying 'no I can't sit down with you and tell you about owning a business because I'm so at the end of my social-interaction rope that I will literally burst into tears and then turn into tears if I have to say it all out loud again'. That doesn't mean that I didn't want to sit down and tell people about my experience, it just meant that I literally did not have the capacity.

Luckily I'm a little bit more centered now, if you will, and I don't quite feel that way. I understand that I have the great privilege of owning a mildly successful coffee shop and I want to share that. I like to read other people's stories and I like to have things in writing so I can reference it. I'm admittedly a little embarrassed about some things that I've written on here but will not go back and change it because growing is good and seeing other people grow is also good.

When I started the titles for the posts with 'a lesson in...' it was always meant to convey that it was a lesson i had learned that i was sharing, but my tone always comes off as though I'm trying to teach the reader a lesson with my profound wisdom. I'm working on moving away from that tone so that's a relief for everyone probably.

I'm going to try and post more, and I'm open to questions and things you'd like to hear about. You can subscribe to the blog and post them on here or you can email me at elle@amethystcoffee.co (not .com for the love of god).

I think that's really all I have to say about that.
